Word salad

It occurs to me that word salad, a mixture of randomly chosen words which is potentially a symptom of schizophrenia (where it would be called schizophasia), is both a coherent descriptive term as well as a potentially excellent example of word salad. Is there a semantic equivalent of onomatopoeia?

I have no idea why I needed to share this.
