A while back, I picked up a copy of Mayday! Mayday!: Aircraft Crashes in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park 1920-2000, by Jeff Wadley and Dwight McCarter, at Half Price Books. The following inscription is on the title page:

Daddy, We missed you in Gatlinburg! Hope you like the book!
Mom, otherwise known as your "Babe"
I love Daddy.

And no, the sad part wasn't that I am reading a book about aircraft crashes.
